ffmpeg presets for x264 & x265

#1 Post by phenest »

According to ffmpeg documentation there should be appropriately named files needed for presets when encoding via libx264 and libx265. I don't seem to have any in Stretch/Testing, at least when installed from Debian packages, and none are supplied if you download from https://ffmpeg.org/download.html. The presets were included with the package libav-tools, but that was with Jessie. libav-tools now just seems to provide symlinks and nothing else. I can't find anything in the Changelog about presets. The x265 encoder seems to work without these preset files, but ffmpeg documentation seems to imply that I still need them.
