minimal installation of desktop environment XFCE over xfwm

#1 Post by nittleflink »

Hello friends,

I want to install debian on my laptop.
At the first i want to finish the installation prozess in my virtual machine. And after that i want to install it on my laptop.

I have installed the minimal installation of debian with the netinst iso (debian-8.6.0-i386-netinst.iso) to have more security. (Linux Hardening)

After the installationprozess of debian is completed, the system reboots and i can see the grub loader and when i choose "debian gnu/linux" the system will start and only the terminal starts

here some pictures:

Now my question is, how can i install from the terminal the minimal of desktop environment XFCE?

And i have read in the internet the following: "desktop environment is XFCE over xfwm" What does it mean? And how i can do that?

I hope someone can help me with the terminal commands

Thank you in advance
