I am using my debian system which is hooked to an Onkyo HT3300 receiver from which the video is routed to a TV. Everything works fine for a while after which audio starts dropping after every 10 s or so. The drop is for about 1-2 s. I have tried different players like smplayer, mplayer, mpv, kodi, vlc. I see the same behaviour in all of them. Searching the net indicates that there are many facing the same problem, but could not find a solution.
I am using Debian testing with some additional packages pulled from unstable.

Which means nobody will have the same system as you so maybe nobody here has the same problems.
You need to find and post error messages. journalctl can be useful but you may need to enable persistent journaling if that is not enabled already. dmesg may also give some clues.

Those who have lost data

I decided to test (after a long time) to install debian stable on the machine. The same behaviour is observed: audio drops once every minute or so. Any ideas/pointers?
