Debian Lxde showing weird colored bars on desktop
So i aquired a everex stepnote lm7wz with a 1.3ghz celeron m and 1.25gb ram. I want linux on it so i tried debian lxde. It booted and worked but the screen was weird, the screen however works fine in lubuntu and tiny core. i belive it is some kernel/driver error. What do you think any tips? Attatched is a picture of it

It sounds like recent hardware that would need a kernel, drivers, firmware, from jessie-backports if you want Debian Jessie with it. This could be confirmed if you installed inxi on Lubuntu and gave us the output of the terminal command

Code: Select all
inxi -F

Believe it. Everex shut down in 2009. (I was surprised to find out that they'd lasted that long. I remember then from their STEP days)stevepusser wrote:....or not; the Google says it's a 2006 machine.
