[solved] lightdm-webkit2-greeter for Debian Testing

Postby tavkomann » 2017-05-25 20:52

Hey guys,

I'd like to install a material design theme for LightDM (e.g. this one: https://github.com/jhallard/lightdm-web ... /README.md). To achieve this, you have to install lightdm-webkit2-greeter. I saw, it is available for Arch, for example. Can you tell me, is there a way to install it on Debian Testing (with Cinnamon)?

Many thanks in advance!

You could try rebuilding from the source packages here: http://ppa.launchpad.net/budgie-remix/d ... 2-greeter/

https://wiki.debian.org/CreatePackageFromPPA

Though I use a somewhat faster and easier method than adding and removing sources.
The MX Linux repositories: Backports galore! If we don't have something, just ask and we'll try--we like challenges. New packages: AzPainter 2.0.6, Pale Moon 27.4.1, Liquorix kernel 4.11-9, mpv 0.26.0, Kodi 17.3, 0ad 0.0.22, Mesa 13.0.6

Thank you, installation works perfectly! Installing themes is also successful. But there's still one problem: The keyboard is not working in any theme (German layout). There was only one theme where it worked because it asked me for the layout. The others do not have this option in the settings. Do you know how so solve this?

Ok, I finally got it working by installing a newer version available here:
http://download.opensuse.org/repositori ... buntu_16.1

I just downloaded the .deb-file in the amd64-directory and installed it with dpkg.

Thanks for your help!
