This is starting to drive me mad.
I have a paired Bose Mini II Soundlink bluetooth speaker. Whether I turn it on before are after clean boot or reboot, it pairs without issue and shows as Type:Audio device in bluetooth settings. The problem is, it does not appear in the "choose a device for sound output" listing, and no sound comes from it. If I restart the bluetooth service;
service bluetooth restart
the speaker drops. When I then select connection: on, it reconnects to bluetooth and the device then appears in the sound devices listing.
I'm trying to figure out from messages and dmesg what is going on but it's very odd.
Any ideas ??

Re: Bose Mini II Soundlink Bluetooth Failure
Are you using GNOME? Sounds like the gdm steals sound issue

Nice to hear that you solved the issue, although sad to hear that it stilll isn't fixed... (that wiki page is from like 5 years ago).
