Thunderbird override gnom3 default browser

#1 Post by luca.mina »

Hi,
I have debian 9 with Gnome, both Firefox and Thunderbird are installed from default repository (versions at the end of the message).
Setting Firefox as default browser from Gnome Settings -> Details -> Default Applications works, until Thunderbird replaces Firefox as a default browser. This is not related with thunderbird's repository updates as it happens even with the same version. However I am not able to figure out why and when Thunderbird do that.

I tried with no success:

Code: Select all

sudo update-alternatives --config x-www-browser
0 /usr/bin/firefox-esr 70 auto mode
1 /usr/bin/chromium 40 manual mode
2 /usr/bin/firefox-esr 70 manual mode

(thunderbird is not even listed here)

Any ideas?

Thanks
Luca Mina
