Linux USB 3.0 monitors ...

I don't quite get what "Plugable"'s problem with Linux is.

They say they won't ever support Linux.

Isn't this just a USB 3.0 device which internally does the protocol switching or is it done via a software driver?

If it is done via a software driver, multi-seat enthusiasts would greatly benefit from such a driver.

Or, do you know of more Linux-friendly hardware manufacturers selling such multi-port devices?

Plugable uses the cheapest chips they can get for whatever gadget they're building today. If the chip manufacturer(s) support Linux, like my cute little microscope, great--if not, TS.
