Light locker black screen

#1 Post by shogun1234 »

When light locker takes effect, the screen becomes black. Although I can unlock after typing password. But it's annoying, for instance, typing wrong password needs to keeping pressing backspace for cleanup.

I tried changing theme at **/etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf** to **greeter-session=lightdm-gtk-greeter**, but the result was worse because typing password doesn't unlock the screen and no way to see what goes wrong. I am sure lightdm-gtk-greeter is installed because installation command shows it's installed.

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install lightdm-gtk-greeter
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
lightdm-gtk-greeter is already the newest version (2.0.5-1).
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 38 not upgraded.
Any place to investigate or how to fix the problem?

Thanks

debian version: buster/sid
kerner version: 4.18.0-1-amd64

i am guessing that your screen switches off at the same time the locker becomes active.
this should be adjustable from power manager settings.

In xfce-power-manager-settings I adjust Display tab's on battery Blank after setting to never or 5 mins, but light-locker-command -l still blank the screen while locking. Any other place I should configure as well?

Thanks

I see you made another thread with similar issue, this isn't good because it makes people duplicate the same suggestions.

Do you mean the thread http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=138669 here?

In that thread originally I thought that was hibernate or something else that went wrong, but then realized the problem was likely caused by light locker. So I supposed these are two different issues (thus creating this new thread). Apologize if this duplicates thread. If so, could admin kindly help delete this thread or any actions that'd be appropriate for this situation? I am happy to continuously discuss on the original thread. Sorry again for any inconvenience.
