Hi all,
I have an old ASUS EeePC 4G that I wanted to use for running PICO-8 as the "only" application. I did a fresh really minimal installation (with only SSH server selected in the options during installation) of Debian. Then, after the first boot, I installed xinit, made a .xinitrc file with the path of PICO-8 and runned startx. The result is that games are lagging.
I noticed that if I try to install MATE, uninstall it and then run startx, everything goes well and games are playable. I think that there is some usefull package installed when MATE is installed, but I can not understand which one is.
Tryed to google around, but could not find anything. Can anyone help me?
Thank you

Re: Running PICO-8 without desktop environment
Try installing the xorg metapackage, that will pull in the graphics drivers you need.

Yes, it was just dbus-x11
It is unnecessary to install xorg, at least for my porpouse.
Thank you anyway to all
