I just installed debian last release 9.9 from iso cd
desktop manager is xfce
i need to use a solid black background to save my eyes ..

Right click on the Desktop - it should bring up an option to change the desktop wallpaper/background color. Xfce4-terminal also allows you to select a black background with white foreground (characters). Xfce4 also has a number of themes some of which are dark.
