MATE desktop: turning off external displays

Postby dezoo » 2019-09-11 13:44

Hi guys,
I use MATE on debian bullseye (currently 1.22.1-1) on my laptop (lenovo 440p) which is in a docking station to which I have connected two external displays (24" dell) via display port.
I've set the displays to go to sleep after some time of inactivity in mate-power-preferences.
This actually works if the laptop lid is open - the external displays go off. Even if the laptop's display is off in mate-display-properties but the lid still left open.
BUT - if I close the lid, the external displays never go off.
Any idea how I can solve the issue?

What does your computer do, when you close the lid (by your preferences)?
