Unable to launch simple scan

Using KDE.
Tried purging program and reinstalling to no avail.
Tried launching from terminal: command not found.
Program was working, malfunctioned at a certain point and after restarting computer did not launch from icon on desktop.
Weird thing is that xsane works, so scanner works.
Update: terminal reports segmentation fault.

u can always try *vuescan* it is a very good prgram i think

simple-scan works without any problem on my pc (debian testing kde)

the terminal-command is "simple-scan" or the version with path "/usr/bin/simple-scan".

I installed simple-scan a long time ago with synaptic. In the menu I can find this program as "Document scanner"

Sorry, log empty, no useful info on other files in there either.
This program used to work well, I like it because simple and fast, now have to use x-sane, more complex.

You should get some sort of output.

@ckosloff: I had the same problem and eventually traced it to a dependency that hadn't been installed.

Unfortunately the history log is very long so difficult to go through it and tell you exactly what was missing but it might be worth checking dependencies and recommends.
