[SOLVED] Two firefox appearing one Private one not from link

If I click on link in an email or open a html file from PCManFM I get two instances of firefox starting one a Private window with no content and one non Private (normal) window with the link content.

I have my /usr/share/applications/firefox-esr.desktop configured with the -private.

If I launch firefox from task bar, menu or command line it starts just the one window as private viewing.

I want all my firefox windows to be private viewing.

if I say open new private window from link web page it opens correctly (for me) one new private window with for the link

./.local/share/applications/firefox-esr.desktop could be getting picked up
in pcmanfm on the html file, right click > open with > custom command line > specify your firefox argument. There is an option to make it as default.
your email client could potentially have similar option

what I meant was it is as per system generated I have only changed the

And it's better to copy /usr/share/applications/firefox-esr.desktop to ~/.local/share/applications/firefox-esr.desktop and edit that file instead to prevent your changes being overwritten when the package is updated.

thankyou @HOAS your steer solved part of it and the other appears to be the parameter.
I found I already had a ~/.local/share/applications/firefox-esr.desktop
But that one contained

So when I made the /usr/share/applications/firefox-esr.desktop and ~/.local/share/applications/firefox-esr.desktop identical I stopped getting two windows.
But I then established it needs to be

and not

Exec=/usr/lib/firefox-esr/firefox-esr -private- %u
