Image viewers don' t keep settings [SOLVED]

Postby Scorpion » 2020-08-20 19:31

I am on debian 10, gnome.
Previously on debian 9 eog (eye of gnome named Image Viewer on the GUI) kept the zoom when browsing pictures, as Shotwell Viewer did too.
Now they both don' t.

If I check the "Best fit" option in eog, after I browse picture it is reset.

On gnome channel they say that is normal.
Can I do something?

You could try with a more developed image viewer like Nomacs.. or try with another eye version (by using snaps or flatpaks):
https://snapcraft.io/eog
sudo snap install eog

You could also try with delete eog settings and run again to check is something were broken in settings... anyways I very recommend you Nomacs (snap , flatpaks, or debian repository)..or even, Gwenview is better than Eye...Picasa3 (wine) though is abandonware might be a very good solution, becouse it worke like a charm, very smooth and quick

Strange that also Shotwell Viewer doesn't keep zoom.

I tried Nomacs (debian repo) in settings I can set "Always keep zoom".
