X11 is slowwwww.

I installed x-window-system using apt, and pulled a dpkg-reconfigure numerous times. Yet, X doesn't work properly. Both of my window managers hang on startup for 10 minutes approximately. If I kill them, I get the following error:

I hope someone could assist me with this matter, since I questioned an entire IRC network, and couldn't find a solution.

First, I think you don't need the X font server, just comment it out. X can handle fonts pretty well on its own.

However, I don't think it is the problem. What happens if you try to run an xterm instead of any window managers?

Thanks for your reply. I commenyed the first section which handles fonts, and yet the error remains exactly the same. I realize it is xfs problem now. What else can I do?

I doubt this makes X slow. I got the same errors, yet the fonts are correct and X runs quite fast.
Did you try to run only an xterm instead of a WM?

try running fc-cache as root, at least it helps if the x starts slow, but I get the impression that your X does not get to the point where you can login so I don't know if this helps
