Sound engine problems

#1 Post by Guest »

Amarok works somewhat well with the xine-engine - sometimes it plays up to 15 minutes before it either stops or goes choppy.

Arts or Gstreamer do not work with amarok.

XMMS locks up. Music Player (gnome) doesn't say anything.

Just testing Xine now.

No sound or mixer devices in sight? sigh.

Any help with linux sound welcome, especially tutorials or links.

is your soundcard supported by alsa?
try to install the alsa source and modules and than run alsaconf as root
did you try that? and than change the audioplugins to alsa in xmms for example
IBM ThinkPad T20
Cirrus Logic CS (Audio)
Savage IX (Graphic)
Debian Sarge
