Ok... two questins...
1) Ok.. I Tried to fix The problem But i Don't obtain nothing without Your Help.......!
I Reinstalled The Debian!
And Now i want to install the KDE 3.4.1 And I dont know how !
I Tried to do how it says here:
http://pkg-kde.alioth.debian.org/docs/install.html

I Added the line "deb http://pkg-kde.alioth.debian.org/kde-3.4.1/ ./" to my sources.list
But when i type in console "apt-get update" it says me this :

Code: Select all

Err http://pkg-kde.alioth.debian.org ./ Packages
  404 Not Found
Ign http://pkg-kde.alioth.debian.org ./ Release
It was not possible to load http://pkg-kde.alioth.debian.org/kde-3.4.1/./Packages.gz 404 Not Found

W: You can start ' apt-get update ' for correction of these mistakes
E: Some index files were not loaded, they have been ignored or instead of them old versions have been used
2) And in apt-get -s dist-upgrade >txt before i added the line of "alioth" it says me:

Code: Select all

Reading of lists of packages...
Construction of a tree of dependences...
Packages which will be updated:
  kernel-image-2.6.8-2-686-smp

Conf kernel-image-2.6.8-2-686-smp (2.6.8-16sarge1 Debian-Security:3.1/stable)
what are the SMP meaning ???
because in the grub menu i have kernel-image-2.6.8-2-686 without the smp too...

And when i wants to install (type apt-get dist-upgrade) this what i see:

Code: Select all

sorry about the previous bad experience. i think it is a bug that unstable didn't require a newer kernel. 3.4.1 on alioth is old and unmaintained. the only way you can get recent kde releases is to either use testing or unstable. I recommend testing (i think it has 3.4.2). next time you upgrade, if you choose to risk it again, make sure that you apt-get kernel-image-2.6-686. it will get you the most recent kernel image for whatever distribution you are using.

How i upgrade the kernel ?? (I new in linux)
and...
How I upgrade the kernel if my computer doesnt want to turn-on the x-server ??

thanks for advance .
To fix any problem that apt-get may have had, run as root:

Code: Select all

apt-get update
apt-get -f install
Also, make sure you have the xserver-xorg package, by installing it as root:

Code: Select all

apt-get install xserver-xorg
In case it's already installed, try configuring it again by running as root:

Code: Select all

dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

Now i do the upgrade to kde 3.5 (yes...,again).....
And I have A question !

I NEED THE ANSWER URGENTLY !!!!!!!!!!

I upgrade for the Terminal konsole
And i didnt quit The kde before i started the upgrade !
And now - When I Upgrade the files it asks me:

Code: Select all

Name Service Switch update in the C Library: pre-installation question.

Running services and programs that are using NSS need to be restarted,
otherwise they might not be able to do lookup or authentication any more.
The installation process is able to restart some services (such as ssh or
telnetd), but other programs cannot be restarted automatically. One such
program that needs manual stopping and restart after the glibc upgrade by
yourself is xdm - because automatic restart might disconnect your active
X11 sessions.

Known packages that need to be stopped before the glibc upgrade are:
        xdm kdm gdm postgresql xscreensaver
This script detects the following services which you are required
to stop before the upgrade:
        gdm

If you want to interrupt the upgrade now and continue later, please
answer No to the question below.

Do you want to upgrade glibc now? [Y/n]
What i have to do now ?
A how i close the gdm ?
because if i close the gdm it close me the x-server and if it close me the x-server and when it close me the x-server it close me the console when the upgrade is upgrading now ! I shall tear off on the middle of the upgrade !!!???!?!?!?!?!?!?!

thanks for advance !

Open another terminal in X, su to root, and type:

Code: Select all

/etc/init.d/gdm stop
gdm should stop definitely. To restart it afterwards, run as root:

Code: Select all

/etc/init.d/gdm start

Just run the "apt-get" command again as you did before, and it should start right where it left off.

SMP means that linux detected that your machine has more than one processor, or maybe a P4 with HT
