Update Gnome 2.12

#1 Post by Carlosinfl »

Is there a way I can update my Gnome Windows Manager and Gnome Login Screen?

I am currently using Debian 64 kernel & would like to get Gnome 2.12 installed on my machine since it was nice and smooth in Ubuntu. Is there a way I can install this using apt? My source list does not seem to find this and I am not sure of any other way to upgrade Gnome on my system.

Thanks

Just went to check at http://packages.debian.org and 2.10 is the latest version of Gnome available in unstable Debian, so you'll have to wait till it enters unstable.
If you are using Debian stable, there won't be major upgrades like that for it. But check out Debian Backports at http://backports.org/.
The Debian Documentation website contains the FAQ, Installation Manual and the Release Notes for Etch. They're helpful if you want to learn more about debian!
