Using Evolution to reach exchange

#1 Post by hyllplan »

Hi
Someone that has got Evolution 2.0.3 with Evolution-exch 2.0.3 (unstable) to connect to a Exchange server properly?
I had earlier versions working properly, but now I keep getting " Could not authenticate to server".
I have seen romours that says that Evolution-exch 2.0.3 strippes "domain/user" to "user" and thereofore you do nopt get validated properly. Also seen some posts that talks about ldap problems. I have noticed that ldap disappeard as an option when configuring IMAP.
Someone that has cleared this out?

And i'm using the following configuration in Evolution:

Identity Tab:
Account Name: domain.com\username

Receiving Mail Tab:
Configuration:
Exchange Server: servername.domain.com
Windows Username: domain.com\username

Security:
Use SSL: Never
Authentication Type: Plaintext Password
Remember password: checked

Receiving Options Tab

Checking for new mail:
I have mine set to "Automatically check for new mail every 1 minutes"
(not sure if this is really even necessary though as message appear
instantly when they are received and not on the minute)

Global Address List / Active Directory:
Global Catalog server name: servername.domain.com
Limit number of GAL responses is checked and set to 500 (default)

Exchange Server
Mailbox name: username (i.e., brian)
OWA path: /exchange
Public Foler server: servername.domain.com

One more thing, forms based authentication IS enabled on the Exchange
OWA config.

Still the same problem.
I have tried all kind of settings:-(

I have also noticed when connecting to the web interface of the exchange server (the interface that exchange-connector uses) this could only be done with konqueror webbrowser all other browsers (netscape, mozilla) just gets a new prompt for password!!? These problems must be related..
