Trouble configuring X with my mice

#1 Post by sriehl »

I've had nothing but trouble trying to config X.

I tried to configure X with xf86cnfg but neither of my mice worked to begin with there, and I'm not sure how to configure it there. I poped in my knoppix cd and copied the two XF86config and XF86config-4 and copied them to this partition but still no luck.

Does anyone have a suggestion on configureing either of the mice? Both are USB, two button and a wheel. One is a logitech wireless and the other is an HP ball mouse.

you can use dpkg -reconfigure xserver-XFree86 to generate a default XF86config-4 file. And during your config, choose /dev/input/mice as your mice device.
It works with logitech USB mice(two button and a wheel).
