Why do you think it is a firmware problem?

found some info here https://duckduckgo.com/html?q=debian+rx560
http://darktable-users.narkive.com/LC0J ... i-or-rx560

You didn't mention, what kernel, or whether you are using the free driver? I could not say why the firmware causes a hang, you didn't say where the black screen, before grub? after grub? before login? after login? and I don't know what ctrl-F1 is supposed to do?

Debian 9 kernel 4.9.0.6 stock. 64bit.
Ctrl+F1 let you go to tyy 1 or terminal of x.org won't run.

ctrl-alt-F2 might work better to get to tty? Did you try the newer kernel in backports when you got the firmware?

i used the new kernel 4.16.0 form the strech-backports and the firmware-amd-graphics ( 20170823 ) drvier pack on also on strech-backports
This works fine,
i try'd 4.9.0.3 and up 4.9.0.6 none of the kernel's work anymore with both versions of ( firmware-amd-graphics ).

Thanks for the help !!
David

( ok now i have a franky-debian but hey it works )

Please don't think backports are going to create FrankenDebian. They're not--they are specifically artisanally crafted to avoid breaking your install.
The MX Linux repositories: Backports galore! If we don't have something, just ask and we'll try--we like challenges. New packages: GIMP 2.10.6, Pale Moon 28.1.0, wine-staging 3.16, qBittorrent 4.1.3, Linux kernel 4.18.8, virtualbox 5.2.18
