(Solved)Intel HD Graphics 400 card

#1 Post by VentGrey »

I recently bought this laptop for everyday Debian fun, this is the same one that was featured on the broadcom problems topics, now here we are again now with a graphics card problem! You see, the thing is that this laptop has an Intel HD Graphics 400 card, this can be seen on the product page(it is exactly that laptop) ("http://www8.hp.com/mx/es/products/lapto ... !tab=specs") the problem is, it seems that i cannot get it to work properly, i've installed the intel-microcode but i don't know if that solves the issue since i still don't see any difference on games or composting, i know Intel graphics cards are way too "bad" when it refers to graphics but there must be a way to extract some juice out of it.

Thanks in advance. :D

I would exchange everything I know in exchange for half of what I don't.

Identify your device further:

https://wiki.debian.org/HowToIdentifyADevice/PCI

Then check the device IDs with mother startpage :)

You could always try to grab a newer kernel and xserver-xorg-video-intel from backports. (I assume you run stable.)
