So it sees the iphone. However when I plug it in it makes a noise but the battery power indicator doesn't show that it is charging the phone.
I have install all the fuse and ifuse packages. I have added myself to the groups.
It doesn't appear as if it will mount.
I am not sure what to try.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
Dan

1. What version of Debian are you using?
2. What DE are you using?
3. What software are you using to access the iPhone?
NEC Spirit 550 P4 3.8GHz HT - 2GB RAM - nVidia 7600GT - Pioneer BDR-209DBK
ASUS Sabertooth P67 i7 3770K - 32GB RAM - 2x nVidia 660GTX SLI'd

Not even a file manager?

What is the output of (as root):
Code: Select all
dmesg | tail

Do you mean the phone does show it's charging? What happens if you plug it into other USB sockets?

It doesn't show it's charging.
Same thing on other usb sockets. I've tried all of them.

In Caja file manager it doesn't show up.

Ok. Do you have another USB device that requires power that you can try? Does your phone charge ok from the mains?

I just want to eliminate a USB hardware problem.

I have an iPad and it does the same thing.

They charge just fine from AC.

One more thing it this computer is dual boot with Windows 7 and it works as expected in Windows.

I know you would just say use Windows then. But I want to use my Debian to do everything.

I would just like to download the pictures from the phone at the least.
Thanks

No. I wouldn't say that at all.

I don't understand why your phone won't charge in Debian but it does in Windows. That's odd. What I can say is my Samsung phone doesn't auto mount either. It did a few months ago, then an update killed that functionality. I can't say I bothered looking into it. I was kinda hoping that another update would fix it. I guess now that it affects someone else, it's time for a bug report maybe.
