I started using Debian Sid yesterday, and I have a problem with my Asus VW193DR monitor.
It's supposed to be 1440x900, and worked fine like that on Funtoo. On Debian however, the display is weirdly stretched, and cuts off.
OSD > System Setup > Information now says it's running at 1152x870, which explains why it's acting weirdly.
Xrandr however does not show that as a valid mode:
Code: Select all
VGA-1 connected 1440x900+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 408mm x 255mm
1440x900 59.89*+ 74.98
1280x1024 75.02 60.02
1280x960 60.00
1280x800 74.93 59.81
1152x864 75.00
1024x768 75.03 70.07 60.00
832x624 74.55
800x600 72.19 75.00 60.32 56.25
640x480 75.00 72.81 66.67 59.94
720x400 70.08
My setup:
Debian Sid
Lenovo Y500
i3wm
Nvidia GT650M with Nouveau drivers
ASUS VW193DR connected through VGA
For a very brief period of time yesterday a "configuring" message popped up and it went to 1440x900, but after going to sleep it came back at 1152x870, and I haven't been able to reproduce that
[EDIT] holding the monitor button triggers auto adjust, but that doesn't fix anything anymore
