strech graphic card driver problem

#1 Post by angi99552 »

now i'm in nomodeset, my screen have 800x600 resolution.

when i installed debian 8 first time i installed graphic drivers with an AMD Catalyst program.
but the actualy version of xorg is bigger than version supported by program.
http://www.debianitalia.org/sites/debia ... esized.gif

so i searched alternatives:
- https://www.google.it/url?q=https://wik ... 3oSce_JdAQ
- https://www.google.it/url?q=https://wik ... v-1VkJHPog

both methods not work.

when i start debian it show some errors:
https://image.ibb.co/m9OoOQ/Senzanome.gif

if i open debian without nomodeset when i login the SO crashed.
https://streamable.com/x8jjg

i found other issues but without successful too:

my graphic card details:

It seems that you searched with keywords "kernel 4.9 error" or something like that, no wonder you are getting irrelevant results. The propritery driver 'fglrx' has been abadoned by AMD long long ago. Some people have luck building it on Debian 9. See http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=133494 . Personally I would stick to the open source driver to avoid creating a huge mess. Make sure you have non-free firmware "firmware-amd-graphics" installed.

Yes i have already firmware-amd-grapfhics installed...

https://www.google.it/url?q=https://wik ... 3oSce_JdAQ

When i tryed to use the hybrid graphics

Code: Select all

root@debian:/home/angelo# xrandr --listproviders
Providers: number : 0
it results no one providers
The firrmware-linux-nonfree is installed but the pc not get the drivers.

You said something about hybrid graphics--is that what you have?

The idea behind hybrid graphics is to use a low power graphic driver, typically intel, when on battery and a more power hungry driver when plugged in and gaming.

Read https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/hybrid_graphics and follow the appropriate links for your hardware (AMD=PRIME).

The other consideration is your bios - some allow the disabling of one of the drivers which usually allows xorg autoconfiguration a decent chance to work.
