Hello,
i'm trying to install hylafax, so that i will be able to send and receive faxes.
I have us robotics external usb fax modem. As it mentions in the setup process https://wiki.debian.org/HylaFax, first i should connect the modem and then start the setup, which i did.
My problem is that in the question "Serial port that modem is connected to [ttyS0]?" i don't know what to answer. From a search that i did, i found that i can see the usb ports in my system by using the command lsusb. The result of the command above shows this,
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 0baf:00ec U.S. Robotics 56K Faxmodem.
What should i answer to the question, about the serial port, to continue the installation?
I'm using debian stretch with gnome.
Thanks

Re: How to set up usb external modem with hylafax
Maybe these links will help you.
First, a discussion of the difference between USB and ACM
https://rfc1149.net/blog/2013/03/05/wha ... evttyacmx/
Then some discussion about specifically setting up Hylafax
http://www.hylafax.org/archive/2010-12/msg00023.php
It's been a long, long time since I used a fax modem, and that was on a true serial port.
