Disconnected HDMI

#1 Post by Wandel »

Hi there,
I can't connected the HDMI output of my laptop.

I tried everything from these links:

https://wiki.debian.org/Bumblebee
https://github.com/Bumblebee-Project/Bu ... itor-setup
https://unix.stackexchange.com/question ... -bumblebee

Bumblebee is working fine. The command optirun is working.
However, xrandr says that my HDMI is disconnected.

If I try the command "optirun true", the laptop actually send some signal from the HDMI output. The message "no signal" disappear from the external monitor, but it doesn't show anything, it only stays black. Also if I run optirun -b none nvidia-settings -c :8
, my external monitor appear to be recognized, but xrandr still says that HDMI is disconneted. In one of the links that I mentioned, a guy says that is necessary to create a 20-intel.conf file in the Xorg configuration directory (/usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d), and when I did it, optirun stopped working, and xrandr showed two virtual outputs, also disconnected.

I'm using Debian Stretch, in a Dell Inspiron Gaming Laptop.

I'm really liking Debian, it is amazing, and although I'm kind noob to linux, I managed to have everything I need running with perfection in Debian, the only thing that is missing is being able to use two monitors.

Somebody help me please!!!

I don't know if add something usefull to this issue, but I tried Ubuntu and Fedora in the same laptop, and which one produced different results: In Ubuntu it worked nicely, while in Fedora worked so so (Fedora found the HDMI as connected, but wasn't able to extend my monitor to it.

Ii really would love to have it working in Debian, can anybody help?
