Alienware X51 R2 bluetooth connection failure

#1 Post by nikobit »

Running Buster gives initial terminal screen while boot process:

Code: Select all

bluetooth hci0: firmware: faile to load brcm/BCM20702A1-413c-8143.hcd (-2)
firmware class: See https://wiki.debian.org/Firmware for information about missing firmware
In stated URL I didn't observe such bluetooth adapter.
Initially adapter was pre-configured by system setup.
But since then is not operational.
Is there a way to set this particular bluetooth card operational and avoid boot message from appearance?
It's Dell Wireless 1550 (2x2 11ac combo with Bluetooth): WIRELESS, BCM4352 with CARD (CIRCUIT), WIRELESS, HMCRD, DW1550, ALTERNATING CURRENT, HF

been there, done that - it enables WiFi no problem. But Bluetooth is still not reading all devices without attempt to connect them
How to enable this firmware?

The first thing I'd try is to follow their directions! https://github.com/winterheart/broadcom-bt-firmware

Thank you so much for the advice. Bluetooth is back online and can detect devices thanks to you.
But the problem with connection remains.
I can list and see my phone and headphones around. I can pair them.
But neither files no sound reception is not possible.
Files from any phone do initiate upload/download which could not be accomplished.
Head phones do attempt to pair and GNOME does indicate successful connection.
In less then a second the connection with headphones is dropped and process loops.
What I did wrong?
