Hey, milomak!
Expect just about anything from the oldsters here on the forum after that question. Prepare yourself. Ha, ha, ha...
My suggestion, and I what I actually have right now, is that card being used as a backup for mission-critical files.

Re: sdcard
if it is a mini sdcard you could put secret stuff on it and hide it in your shoe?

Re: sdcard
wouldn't that be way too slow?milomak wrote:actually i can just make it /tmp
i think i'd use it for backups; if you exclude the right directories it might even hold a full system backup?
or just some extra data... maybe make it portable.

Re: sdcard
This (and swap) is probably one of the worst uses of an SD card.milomak wrote:actually i can just make it /tmp
/tmp must be fast and stand repeated writes, just the opposite of an SD card.
Re: sdcard
i currently don't have swap so it can't be worse surely?p.H wrote:This (and swap) is probably one of the worst uses of an SD card.milomak wrote:actually i can just make it /tmp
