Hello ,
i am trying to install the Printer driver for my Ecotank Printer from Epson.
It seems not installable due to missing package
"LSB"
http://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/du/02 ... bc0017e532
is there a way to install this package in Debian?
It is still available in Ubuntu.

(Ecotank ET-4750) Printer Driver not installable
Re: (Ecotank ET-4750) Printer Driver not installable
It may be the same driver as this:
https://packages.debian.org/source/bust ... nter-escpr
Should install everything you need. Please post back your results. Someone in the future will likely have the same issue.
https://packages.debian.org/source/bust ... nter-escpr
Code: Select all
apt update && apt install epson-inkjet-printer-escpr

Thank you,
i presume it should work; cannot confirm at the moment , but am remembering that in Ubuntu 19.04 the printer was automatically recognized, so i presume this printer-driver you inicated is a correct one.
the driver from Epson is found here

Re: (Ecotank ET-4750) Printer Driver not installable
I used Epson's printer driver for a couple of years, since the printers at work are all EcoTanks. Recently, I decided to try the drivers in epson-inkjet-printer-escpr and all printers were recognised (L375, L355 and two others whose models I cannot remember --they are in a different building.) The scanners should be recognised automatically, no drivers needed.
The "official" driver does offer, among others, quality options (Draft, Standard and High) and a more comprehensive set within Colour, Brightness, Saturation. But the generic drivers do get the job done at the office.
If you still prefer to use the "official" driver, you will have to force its installation ignoring its dependency on LSB, then create a required symlink(s) that would have been created during the installation of the LSB package [1], and then "trick" APT (the system, not the application) so that it does not list the driver package as broken on every action.
Let me know and I can help you with its installation.

Re: (Ecotank ET-4750) Printer Driver not installable
Thank you for the help,
i might consider this if i were to switch back to Debian at some time (currently using Kubuntu).
For the scanner, (i am using ET-4750), i had to use a specific driver
http://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/du/02 ... 34fe2b65bc
The great thing is, that epson really offers a quite exhaustive list of drivers, even going back to Wheezy and Precise.
ONly thing i found missing was PPC support and for Arm64 (drivers for armhf-32bit present)
However, the scanner was not very responsive on my side, it had problems with sliding in the paper;
so i resorted to VueScan which really worked quite everytime i tried to use, great software!

Re: (Ecotank ET-4750) Printer Driver not installable
Hello ,
the solution has been given over at Devuan forum.
To install the official driver (which needs package "lsb") from Epson it is necessary (on Debian Stretch or Newer) to install the package
libpng12 (available in Debian Jessie repositories)
https://packages.debian.org/jessie/amd6 ... 0/download
afterwards, the lsb package would resolve the dependency with lsb-desktop correctly and would be installable, and as a consequence the printer driver from Epson and the printer driver utility and also the fax driver package can be installed withouth problems.
