Can somebody help me with this? My i386 Debian cannot load wireless interface. I just installed Debian recently. During boot up it displays the following text:
USB 2-1: device descriptor read/64, error - 71
usb 2-1: device not accepting address 4, error - 71
usb 2.1: device not accepting address 5, error - 71
usb usb2port1: unable to enumerate usb device
mt7601u 1-5:1.0: firmware : failed to load...
Any hint or suggestions?

I think you need the firmware-misc-nonfree package for the MediaTek device (mediatek/mt7610u.bin) displayed in your screenshot.EbonCandle wrote:My i386 Debian cannot load wireless interface.
As for the "device descriptor read/64, error" that's another matter.
DebianStable
Code: Select all
$ vrms
No non-free or contrib packages installed on debian! rms would be proud.

it seems i have solved this
the error "device descriptor read/64, error - 71" doesnt give any problem. so i think i'll keep it as it is for now.
