is wifi rtl8192cu free software?

Getting your soundcard to work, using Debian on non-i386 hardware, etc

is wifi rtl8192cu free software?

https://www.newegg.com/comfast-cf-wu825 ... 000R-00045
On debian 10 main the device runs when connected.

https://packages.debian.org/search?suit ... =rtl8192cu
The /lib/modules/4.19.0-9-arm64/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/realtek/rtlwifi/rtl8192cu/rtl8192cu.ko file
is present. But searching for rtl8192cufw in file manager does not find files. I assume because
they are non free software. Does the rtl8192cu chip run because it
does not require firmware? Else where are the firmware files located. Thank you.

The firmware-realtek package (which contains the rtl8192cufw.bin firmware) is non-free.

In order to install non-free software see the sources.list page at Debian Wiki.
