touchpad sensitivity needs adjustment

Postby techsavvy » 2020-08-03 18:58

Greetings, The laptop touchpad sensitivity seems to be non-adjustable for some reason. My hands don't work as well as they used to, and I am inadvertently touching the pad and accidentally dragging things and placing the cursor at inopportune spots, even though "Disable touchpad while typing" . With a KDE Plasma desktop, the GUI "System Settings->Input Devices->Touchpad" seems to be grayed-out, disabling adjustment of "Pressure for detecting a touch". How can I adjust this parameter, please?

Forum research on the matter yielded "xinput ..." as an informational tool, but I don't see any relevant field nor do I know what file to edit to change any of these, so I depend on the GUI which isn't working as desired. How to fix it, please?
