I want to know how can install a modem PCTel Platinum V.90, I use the command lspci and appears but when I try to configure it using the pppconfig program is not detected.
What can I do to solve the problem ??

This is a winmodem. You need the driver (pctel-0.9.6.tar.gz ) from here: http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/pctel-linux/
some of these winmodem drivers create a new device file that is used to point to the modem.
Most of the drivers for winmodems have been written without any help or support from the hardware manufacturers.
