USB weel mouse Logitech M-BB48

#1 Post by hakwes »

Sarge 3.1 on Motherboard Asus P4S800-MX.

I can´t set the mouse from right to left hand operation.
With application : Gnome/Desktop/Mouse

Tryed PS/2 with adapter (USB-PS/2). Not good. Cursor unmovable.
My 2-botton works nice in PS/2.

Must I invest in a new (8$) PS/2-mouse or have anyone some tips!

mouse in gnome

Try gnome>Desktop>Preferences>Mouse to set mouse as left or right handed. In kde its kmenu>control center>peripheral devices>mouse. If mouse is frozen then tell us what does /etc/X11/XF86conf-4 mouse section show? What does lspci, lsusb and lsmod show? Did you apt-get install mdetect? Good luck.

I tried in Gnome and in KDE too, but no luck. I can click left handed - but the button order don’t affect the mouse itself.

It is still right-hand buttons.

Mouse works OK - Buttons and weel

1) Yes I: apt-get install mdetect

2) etc/X11/XF86conf-4

logitech 1st mouse

#4 Post by lestoil »

What happens if you comment out 1st mouse section leaving only only lower mouse section? I have same motherboard with only second mouse section for my logitech mouse(different model).

I did that. Result: no video started.

xmodmap -pp
The button order is 3 2 1 4 5 (1 2 3 4 5 in right handed mode)

Everything is OK on the right hand - buttons and weel.

I have OS X mouse and pen on the right and want Debian to the left. ( I am primary right-handed).

But Debian is like a female - hard to know what to say or do to make the accurate things happen...

Are there some problems in USB setup? I tried a PS/2 wheel mouse, but the wheel did not function.

I did some changes in “XF86Config-4”. And then both mouse’s are working correctly.

Se: http://fyrskeppsvagen.com/tips/linux_pc ... index.html

hope this help someone with the same problem...
