Udev and Permissions
Udev and Permissions
I'm running unstable and have little problems with udev. I have manually changed /etc/udev/permissions.d/udev.permission so that regular user can use soundcard. But every time udev updates the permissions change back (so that only root have access to soundcard). Is there any better way to change those permissions so that they would be "more permanent".
You have to make your own permission file
Create the file /etc/udev/permissions.d/00-mystuff.permissions
It has to start with 00- so it will overide the default udev.permission.
Copy from udev.permission what you need and just change the permissions.
You can do the same thing with the rules if you want udev to symlink you cd/dvd drive to something else than the default.
