Do you have any existing familiarity with the subjects? or are you coming in "clean"?
Re: Books for HTML5, CSS3, Javascript (jquery)
I am familiarity with the html and css, but I took a long, very long, pause with them and now I started again to work with the web, especially creating email campaign so I would come back on the track and updating myself.

If you like highly visual books these are quite good - HTML & CSS, JavaScript/jQuery set
There are also many good articles and books through http://smashingmagazine.com
I also hear very good things about the Head First series espeically Head First HTML
I'm using the fantastic resources over at http://codeschool.com myself. They're excellent refreshers and fill in details I didn't have before. While not free, it's not too expensive either.
