config.default.php

Postby fvs » 2007-03-06 22:08

I just install phpMyAdmin and can't seem to get mysql data to open in the phpMyAdmin web,
I can get into it only to find that I have no privileges to get a database, I'm looking to get it right, so I went to find the file config.default.php to configure it, It's not in my files? Need some direction.

if go to /usr/share/doc/phpmyadmin/examples/ you'll find the file you're looking for.

The file in question is compressed.
Use this command: tar zxvf config.default.php.gz
You can also use a program like Ark to do the same

This file may be more legible if you uncompress it first. Try:

# gunzip config.default.php.gz

You can also view gzipped files with "less file.gz" if you have the following line in /home/frank/.bashrc:

[ -x /usr/bin/lesspipe ] && eval "$(lesspipe)"

Can't get apache to open phpmyadmin, I just get a page that says IT WORKS! and then wont open phpmyadmin/
Tried to follow this wiki;

cp config.sample.inc.php config.inc.php
nano config.inc.php

Fill in the blowfish secret passphrase on the line

$cfg['blowfish_secret'] = ''; /* YOU MUST FILL IN THIS FOR COOKIE AUTH! */

But after entering file nano config.inc.php that line isn't in there?
