Can't run C programs or TCL scripts

Postby saintlovers » 2007-03-18 13:18

I am trying to get some C programs and TCL scripts working on my Etch system.

I used apt to download and install gcc and tcl8.4

I have a very simple C program that complies and I do get a file, a.out.

I have read, write and execute priveledges for the file but when I run I get the following error:

bash: a.out: command not found

I see a similar problem with tcl. THe first line of simple script is

#!/usr/bin/tclsh

For some odd reason I also noticed that I cannot use the tab key to auto complete the file names, either to run them or to open them with my editor

I fixed it, sorry for asking such a silly question - it is a path problem, simply adding my C and TCL working directories to my path in my .bashrc resolved it.
