For game development/music production better choice would be to just use Windows/OS X
Debian is cool but game/music "development" isn't Linux strongest attribute
OS: Debian unstable sid
Kernel: x86_64 Linux 4.13.0-1-amd64
WM: Gnome3
CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K CPU @ 3.9GHz

Cool if you are happy with that, but with time progress when you get better at music production, you will lack alot of tools, and you will need to switch to Windows/OS X sooner or later, and once you do, you will have to learn everything from scratch (new DAW)

just my 5 cents

It's a personal opinion, and not a certified truth. For using OSX and Debian LibraZiK for music production, OSX is not my main choice.
And there are many Daws (Ardour, Mixbus, Tracktion, Bitwig and Reaper is coming soon) running on OSX/Windows and Gnu/linux OS.

It's not opinion, its from someone who spend 13 years in music production.
You won't be even able to use most of the VSTs available on market on Linux.
The DAWs you mentioned are more like toys for kids, you can find more professional software for iPad lol.

Bitwig is the only one professional DAW that works on Linux, but still, what can you do with it if you won't be able to use most of the VSTs

zebassprophet, how did you install monodevelop? It is not in Jessie. It is in Testing and might be in Jessie back port.
