Hello there,
I'm using debian-9. I'm a java developer. Recently oracle officially released oracle jdk 9 officially and before that openjdk-9 has been released. I'm using openjdk-9 by downloading it from download.java.net/java/GA/jdk9/9/binari ... bin.tar.gz . I searched openjdk in debian software repository but I found openjdk-8 there. It's sometime painful for checking new updates from official sites and again downloading them and using them. Is there any other option to do so? Yes I know it can be done by some third party ppa but I don't want to use any ppa. Do anyone know if there have any chance to add openjdk-9 in debian's official software repository? As far I know openjdk-9 is stable enough and well tested. So if anyone know that then please let me know.
Thank you.

Re: Including openjdk-9 in debian main repository
Oh great, I have read that instructions. As far I know openjdk-9 is stable enough and it's already tested well before releasing that. Will openjdk-9 remain in backport repository for debian 9 always? Will it be added in debian 9 software repository after some testing? Is there any rules that new packages or updated versions will not be added in the main repository?
