Email client
Email client
Hello,
I have been using Thunderbird for years, but slowly, I have come to learn that it is no longer being developed. In other words, little bugs are showing up here and there.
I had used it with the Enigmail addon, to fulfill my encryption needs.
Now that I am growing frustrated with Thunderbird, I was curious, is there an alternative free email client that support PGP??
I think Evolution does? I haven't tried, but perhaps.
Anything else?
Thanks.

Re: Email client
I have used sylpheed, also for gpg crypted mailing. I supppose there are other mail clients that can do that, but I have no experience on others.
Re: Email client
Evolution supports PGP and S/MIME.

Re: Email client
Oh yeah, I remember Evolution does. My issue is that I used Mac, Windows and Linux throughout the household.
Predominantly, I use Linux, but my partner uses Mac. Worse case, I will use Windows, if I absolutely have to for some archaic application.
thanks, I will check out sylpheed, it seems to support the three OSes that I might use.

Re: Email client
I have used claws-mail for many years, does what I need it to do and does it very well.
Re: Email client
The last time I tried Claws it blocked every other action while fetching mail.
Has that been made multithreaded now?

Re: Email client
Thanks for all the information.
After looking at the wiki infos, and recomendations, I will give Claws a try. Looks promising.
