Multi-timer package

#1 Post by Scorpion »

I am using this script for a timer:

Code: Select all

#!/bin/bash

# NAME: multi-timer
# DESC: Multiple timers countdown with alarm.
# https://askubuntu.com/questions/1039357
# /a-timer-to-set-up-different-alarms-simultaneosly

# DATE: May 31, 2018. Modified June 7, 2018.

# UPDT: 2018-06-07 Add new index for check box: "automatically close
# progress bar display when all Sets finish. Use: rm ~/.multi-timer
# to delete configuration file before running update.

# NOTE: Following conventions are used:
# Functions must be defined above point where they are called.
# Yad style TRUE/FALSE instead of Bash true/false convention.
# Variables beginning with- s is string
# - i is integer
# - f is TRUE/FALSE
# - a is array
# - cb is combobox

# Must have the yad package.

Can you create a packcage?

Sometimes it does not start becasue:

Code: Select all

yad: cannot create shared memory for key 12345: File exists
And you have to use:

Code: Select all

ipcrm -M 12345
It requires yad that cannot work on wayland.

You have to manually set the number of timers for the resolution.
With too many you can' t reach the bottom of the multi-timer' s window, (with low resolution).

It does not work with many timers, for a 4k monitor.

Can you fix that?

An option to save/load the configurations can be add?

Can you add a speech synthesizer? That says the timer' s name when it ends.
