A unique identifier?

Just wondering if there's some environment variable or something defined in some header file somewhere that will tell me I'm on a Debian or Debian based system.

I'm having poroblems fixing the MySQL Control Center compilation issues for Debian and Ubuntu because qt is split between /usr/share/qt3 and /usr/include/qt3 and because qpopmenu.h has been renamed to qpopupmenu.h on these systems.

If someone knows a better way to fix these issues, I'm open to suggestion.

I should point out that hard coded fixes aren't an option, it still has to work on every other distro out there (which it does now AFAIK).

Have a look at how KDE and some of the other Qt based systems handle it.

Also there is a file /etc/debian_version that states the Debian version.

Yeah, I was being stupid again (certainly not the first time). On opening qpopmenu.h, I was greeted with this:
Code: Select all
#ifndef QPOPMENU_H
#define QPOPMENU_H
#include "qpopupmenu.h"

In my defense, I didn't write mysqlcc, I'm merely trying to make it usable again. Also, I've done practically nothing with QT in the past (I don't even like KDE - strictly Gnome and Fluxbox for me).

Thanks though.
