Lost update-inetd

#1 Post by Guest »

Recently in trying to add some new bits and pieces to my Debian Potato install, I ran up dselect.

I thenm spent the next hour trying to juggle the packages so that my sendmail install was NOT flagged for removal - its the only thing I use Debian for !

The resulting chaos seems to no longer contain the file update-inetd

I have fixed everything else so that dselect is now "clean" and doesn't try and remove anything but a reconfigure of sendmail fails with this missing file.

can someone please let me know where I can find it.

many thanks,

jON

Point your web browser to www.debian.org/distrib/packages#search_contents.
Use update-inetd as the keyword.

I would do apt-get install --reinstall package_name.
