Repository maintenance

#1 Post by trey »

What's the popular opinion for best tools for managing custom package repositories? I have used both Reprepro and PDK (which has unfortunately seemed to have met it's demise). I haven't ever tried mini-dinstall or dak. I'm interested in managing between 500 and 2,000 packages, nothing near as large as Debian's repositories.

I beleive dak is what is used to run the official repos but is a bit arcane.

the package description for dak suggests using mini-dinstall or debarchiver

Debarchiver is a nice simple reop tool. It doesnt do pools, so if you have a large repository you may want something that does but for a few pacakges (i have a hundred or so) it is great.
