Screen Shot Error Gnome

#1 Post by cstodgell »

Hello. Recently after the latest upgrade to my Debian 64-bit(unstable) I can no longer take any screen shots. When I try I am prompted with the following error message:

There was an error running "gnome-screenshot":
Failed to execute child process "gnome-screenshot" (No such file or directory).

I am a Linux noob. Any ideas how to fix the problem?

did you check what the upgrade planned to do before saying yes? if not why not?

is the gnome-utils package still installed?

May be reinstall gnome-utils will work.

Code: Select all

# apt-get --reinstall install gnome-utils
Debian testing "squeeze"
HP Pavilion dv7-2080ed

heh No I didn't... I didn't because I have no idea what it's doing (Harcore Linux Noob).

I'll check if gnome-utils package is still installed.
