Debian to reduce the number of supported platform

Debian Etch, the next major version of the Linux distribution will have the number of supported platforms reduced to eight, down from twelve in the current version.

Not necessarily, although it is looking that there will be a few dropped. The arches that haven't qualified to release with etch still have a chance to qualify in the future if they can pull everything together.
