Debian 4.0r2

#1 Post by didi »

On 27 December 2007 Debian 4.0 was updated to r2: http://www.debian.org/News/2007/20071227

But I can't find the updated images, http://www.debian.org/CD/ still points to 4.0r1 and browsing on that site didn't help either.

Does anyone know when the updated images will be available?

From http://www.debian.org/News/2007/20071227
New CD and DVD images containing updated packages and the regular installation media accompanied with the package archive respectively will be available soon at the regular locations.

I thought/think the regular location is http://www.debian.org/CD/ ;)
What I don't know is what timeframe they have in mind with the word 'soon'. I would normally expect that all things were ready (to download) before they made the press announcement.

Releasing CDs on time isn't critical for a point release, as most people would update using APT.

I would expect CDs to be uploaded over the next week or two.

The CD images have arrived!

Installing Debian GNU/Linux 4.0r2
http://www.debian.org/releases/etch/debian-installer/

Note however that the links are incorrect, they still point to r1, and clicking on the link gives you a 404 Not Found msg.
But when you substitute r1 with r2 you'll see the proper download page :D

So for the jigdo download of the full DVD iso images you'd change
http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/4.0 ... jigdo-dvd/ with
http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/4.0 ... jigdo-dvd/

When you start from http://www.debian.org/CD/ the links will be correct, even though that page says the latest is 4.0 rev1, the links point to 4.0 rev2 8)
